SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC)- Savannah firefighters were out early battling a blaze at the East Coast Terminal off of President Street.

The fire erupted in the conveyor belt system just before 3:25 a.m. Wednesday at 136 Marine Terminal Dr., according to Savannah Fire and Emergency Services. Terminal officials say that employees were unloading wood chips off of a truck onto a conveyor belt when a fire somehow ignited along the conveyor, burning two of the belts that were loading the wood chips and the electrical system.
